Bringing your assets back to life: real impact you can measure
Following on from our recent “AssetCycle on the move” update, we’re excited to share real-life examples of how our service is creating positive change right at your doorstep. The case studies below highlight the measurable, versatile impact that we can deliver, making sustainable asset management not just a vision but a reality for productions of all shapes and sizes.
Responsible disposal from a busy studio
Recently we supported one of our production partners, who was storing a high number of unused and unwanted assets at their studio base.
Over three separate collections, we supported them by redistributing items directly from the studio to our reuse and recycling partners. This included a mixture of props, costumes, production assets, confidential paper waste, electrical goods, and high-IP assets.
The results, calculated by our unique assets calculator, speak for themselves:
- Carbon emissions avoided*: 75,631.9 kgCO₂e — By reusing materials and avoiding the need to source new ones, emissions equivalent to the annual energy use of over seven average UK homes were prevented.
- Assets diverted from landfill: 21.7774m³ — Sets, props, and materials were saved from waste, ensuring they found a second life instead of contributing to landfills.
- Assets donated to community organisations: 10.00m³ — These items supported meaningful causes, strengthening links between productions and their surrounding communities.
In terms of energy saved this is equivalent to approx 16 homes’ electricity use for one year or similarly approx 6 million smartphones charged.
- Data generated by our partner platform AssetFlow and our calculator developed by Climate Essentials. Each reuse projects receives a circular economy certificate and asset breakdown data analysis.

Construction & set reuse on site
Our work doesn’t stop at the studio door. AssetCycle recently supported an HETV production focused on disposing sets responsibility, delivering sustainable impact on-site where it matters most. Here’s what was achieved:
- Carbon emissions avoided: 54,890.2 kgCO₂e — By responsibly reusing and redistributing construction materials, significant emissions were saved.
- Assets diverted from landfill: 18.3450m³ — Materials originally destined for disposal were reintroduced into new projects or repurposed, reducing waste and conserving resources.
- Assets donated to community organisations: 7.85m³ — Usable assets went directly to local groups and charities, driving positive social outcomes.
