A big evening for sustainability at the BFDG’s Production Design Awards
CAMA would like to recognise the winners of all of the British Film Designers Guild (BFDG) categories at their Production Design Awards on Saturday evening. Having stored for and managed the reuse of their props and sets, we were particularly excited to see Netflix‘s Black Mirror Series 6 win for the Best Production Design – TV – Band 2 Programmes category, sponsored by ScreenSkills HETV Skills Fund!
Our favourite category of the evening was of course the Planet Positive Award; a massive shoutout to Michael Ralph and the art department from BBC Studios Good Omens II for winning with their innovative use of cardboard set construction, and to Apple TV+ Hijack for making the top three. You may have spotted last week’s article on how we supported Hijack’s submission with our AssetCycle carbon reporting service!
Congrats to the BFDG for organising such brilliant recognition of production designers’ work, and for providing the space to specifically recognise efforts in sustainability. It’s great to see such a focus on circularity and reuse.
We have exciting work developing in the area of sustainable set construction that will be announced very shortly, watch this space…
“CAMA are proud to be a corporate sponsor of the BFDG. It is clear from Saturday evening that production designers and art departments are leading the way when it comes to integrating sustainability into the earliest stages of production. We are excited to continue engaging with the BFDG and its members over the next year, and to supporting designers through material reuse and circularity.” – Ella Nevill, CAMA, Head of Engagement and Partnership Development
