Coco’s upcycled bar

We all know the familiar phrase “reduce, reuse recycle” that is often chanted in relation to sustainability. The only criticism of the phrase is the lack of “upcycling” mentioned… perhaps because it’s a process that encompasses all three elements. Upcycling in the process of turning waste materials into something new.

Daren Saunders, our Operations Director at CAMA Workspace, spent his lockdown building a bar at the bottom of his garden from materials found at CAMA, such as old pallets, recycled wood and reclaimed pipework fixings.

All the individual strips of wood are stained by hand.

We hope that the pictures and story of Daren’s project inspires you to upcycle too!
