Supporting award-winning productions with CAMA
Awards season is upon us, and we are proud to have worked with two productions nominated for the Outstanding British Film category at this year’s BAFTA awards.
The Swimmers (Netflix 2022) and Roald Dahl’s Matilda the Musical, (Netflix 2022) have both been recognised for their outstanding artistry and craftsmanship, which we had the pleasure of supporting by storing their props, sets and costumes.
We also supported by developing plans for donating and selling any excess materials from sets or costumes in store with us, rather than throwing them away—creating a win-win situation where another production can benefit from these physical assets while avoiding unnecessary waste!
We have a dedicated team at the warehouse who work in partnership with costumiers and prop houses, and have developed a network across the industry, returning and selling many items to specialist suppliers, rental companies and productions, significantly increasing the lifecycle of each and every prop or costume.
Ultimately our aim is to take care of a production’s physical assets so they can focus on what really matters – creating great films that are celebrated internationally.
Extending the lifecycle of physical assets
The film industry is no stranger to waste. From sets and props to costumes and backdrops, producing a big-budget feature film can generate a lot of waste as productions move from location to location. But, with some clever planning and collaboration, we can reduce this waste and help create a more sustainable film industry.
We understand how important it is to maintain continuity and the lifecycle of the physical assets that are stored with us. We take pride in developing post-production plans that reduce waste while providing materials and assets to other productions who can benefit from them.
By utilising these reuse strategies, not only are we minimising waste, but productions are also able to reduce their costs.
Our team ensures that all stored props, sets and costumes are properly labeled and tracked in our inventory system so they can easily be identified when needed. This helps streamline the process of finding what productions need quickly and efficiently.
The ease at which props and sets can be accessed and then reused or sold is critical. Through our unique software and specialist industry networks we can ensure this happens seamlessly.
