Sometimes the simplest solutions make the biggest impact. In Liverpool, our regional storage hub is helping productions give a second life to props, costumes, and sets —saving valuable items from going to waste.
With support from our asset management partner platform, AssetFlow, we’re able to keep track of every asset from storage to reuse or recycling, giving productions confidence that everything is managed transparently and efficiently.
Recently, we worked with a studio who stored their period drama assets at our Liverpool hub. Our specialist reuse team went to the site and sorted through everything, making sure any confidential or high-value items were handled correctly.
Here’s what we managed to achieve together:
- Props and costumes: 79m³ went back into the industry. These items are now being reused in future film, TV, and theatre shows, saving money and resources for everyone.
- Sets: 92m³ of old sets were responsibly recycled instead of being thrown away.
We didn’t bring anything back to our main depots, everything went straight from our partner warehouse to its next destination. That means fewer miles travelled, less transport and less time wasted.
Our regional storage hubs are making these kinds of solutions possible across the UK
By having local hubs like the one in Liverpool, productions can easily store set pieces, costumes, and props nearby. When something is needed for a new project, or if assets are ready for donation or recycling, it’s all handled quickly and locally. There’s no need to ship items back and forth across the country, which saves time and cuts down on transport emissions.
This setup works for everyone, it’s better for the environment, as it means less waste and lower carbon emissions. It also helps productions get what they need with less hassle, and keeps valuable materials in use, supporting other productions and the local community.
Our hubs are staffed by people who know the industry and understand what needs to be sorted, saved or recycled. It’s a hands-on, practical approach that keeps things simple. We work with partner warehouses and local teams who are experienced in making sure everything goes to the right place, whether that’s another production, a community group or a recycling centre.
This approach shows how regional hubs like Liverpool can make it easier for productions to reuse and recycle, wherever you are in the country.
We’re here to make storage and responsible disposal straightforward, supporting not just the environment, but the whole creative community along the way.
