CAMA partners with HARP to support our local community
It was lovely to welcome some of the HARP team to our new London Southend Airport site last Thursday!
HARP is a charity working with local people who are either homeless or at risk of homelessness, supporting them to rebuild their lives and live independently in the community. Their goal is to end rough sleeping in Southend-On-Sea, providing essential services, emergency housing, and longer-term solutions.
We were so excited to welcome our first ever guests for a tour of our new warehouse facilities and even happier that it was Charlotte Stein (Fundraising Coordinator) and Agata Elliott (Director of Fundraising and Communications)! The team also came to collect some brilliant donations, coordinated by our reuse and circularity lead, Sam Collins:
“Charlotte and Agata’s passion for HARP and supporting the local community through their vital work is so clear and admirable. We are honoured to be able to support the charity through our AssetCycle service at CAMA, providing assets that can be used directly by HARP’s clients, in their offices, community buildings, and shops. Really looking forward to working with them more and developing this partnership further. Lots of good things to come!”
We’ve been working with HARP for the past year, providing both essential items for their centres and clothes, shoes, books, bric-a-brac and furniture for their charity shops. These items act as a resource for their award-winning accommodation, as well as vital income for their charity shops which in turn funds street outreach, housing, and advice and support through their Bradbury Day Centre.
This work is part of CAMA’s broader mission to cut waste and divert assets from landfill in the film and television and construction industries. By coordinating reuse, we are enabling a circular economy that benefits both people and the planet. HARP, through their charity shops, are themselves a brilliant leader in the circularity space and so it’s a true honour and joy for our team to be partnering with them.
“HARP is so grateful to CAMA for their ongoing support for our work. We love what they do and we were blown away during the tour of the new Southend Headquarters.
We’re looking forward to working closely with the amazing team at CAMA to develop our partnership further in the coming months.”
As part of our ongoing corporate partnership, we’re excited to receiving funding updates from the HARP team and to providing carbon avoidance insights in turn – an excellent testament to how integral reuse is to our local communities both financially and environmentally!
We could not be prouder to support such a fantastic organisation and we loved having Charlotte and Agata over to help us learn more about their services. Who knows, you may even spot us at the HARP24 24-hour endurance fundraising race next year…
