Investing in the circular economy in Southend on Sea
We are excited to announce that CAMA have submitted planning through HBD for 28,000 sq. ft. in Southend-on-Sea to become the headquarters for the business’ reuse & redistribution facility.
CAMA’s MD Michaele Apostolides says “The demand for storage and commitment to the efficient reuse of sets, props and costumes is driving this development – and our expansion across the country is testament to this. Essex is close to our hearts, so having our base there, with all the studio developments close by is an exciting opportunity for our family business!”
This new base will be designed to service studio development in the Thames Estuary Production Corridor.
Cllr Ian Gilbert, cabinet member for Economic recovery, regeneration and housing, said: “Not only is it wonderful to see another well-established organisation submitting an application, but one that specialises in a circular economy, which supports the Council’s Green City Action Plan and environmental commitments.
Director of CAMA Michelle French adds: “Our focus on social sustainability has supported our vibrant community in London Borough of Barking and Dagenham and we are looking forward to launching similar social value initiatives with Southend-on-Sea City Council”
Harry Bunbury, Director at HBD, said: “Airport Business Park is an important development for the City and work is continuing to progress well on site. CAMA is an excellent fit for the scheme and will contribute to driving growth and investment. Provided planning is approved, we aim to start on site later this year.”
