Apple TV+’s Hijack shortlisted for BFDG Planet Positive Award
The CAMA team would like to extend a massive congratulations to Apple TV+ and 60Forty Films for being shortlisted for the BFDG Planet Positive Award with Hijack (and congrats on your season 2 renewal)! We’re incredibly proud to have supported this production with its asset management and to have provided both storage and Circular Economy forecast data for its award submission.
The forecast data we provided is based on an analysis of Hijack donating 34m³ of their props, sets, and costumes and them being reused three times, versus buying all of their assets new and sending them to landfill. The potential carbon emissions avoided are vast and emphasise just how feasible it is for productions to reduce their footprint (and budget) by acting with circularity in mind.
It’s particularly exciting to see that reuse is such a core element of so many of the shortlisted productions this year – a great sign that production designers are playing a leading role in enabling circularity and sustainability on set, and a testament to why we are so proud to be BFDG members!
Our AssetCycle service was set up to support productions like Hijack (along with 47 other films and television series since January 2023) with the reuse of their props, sets, and costumes. It has already been a busy 2024 for our team and we’re glad that our industry-first data is being used to evidence carbon impact in such a visible and engaging way through Hijack’s Planet Positive entry.
